(EFE Archive) British Airways on Tuesday said it had halted the sale of tickets for short-haul flights from Heathrow for a week, as the London airport continues to struggle with a spike in demand and issues with baggage handling systems. The move came after the United Kingdom travel hub urged airlines to limit reservations following a measure that was introduced in early July that capped the number of daily passengers to 100,000, some 4,000 fewer travelers than originally scheduled, due to staffing issues and increased demand in air travel after a two-year pandemic hiatus.
