June 30, 2021 Manhattan, New York. Retired city workers on the steps the National Museum of the American Indian rally and march against privatizing of medicare benefits. A group of about 200 retired citizens and their supporters, marched through downtown Manhattan from bowling green to City Hall.They are asking for the municipal labor committee and the NYC office of labor relations to institute a moratorium on their Medicare privatization plans. The privatization plan began in 2018 negotiations between the Metro Labor Council and city officials. They looked for roughly $600 million in budget savings and would see 250,000 retirees and their dependents move from Medicare to a private company-managed Medicare Advantage plan.중요 정보
